Frequently asked questions
Everything about the movement, the clinic, and how to begin. Can’t find your answer? Call (706) 224-9951.
The Movement
What is Begin to FINISH, and how is it different from the clinic?
Begin to FINISH is the movement: a faith-anchored, Christian conviction that the second half of life is deployment, not decline. FINISH Performance Health is its clinical home in Athens: advanced diagnostics, coaching, and care you can walk into today. The clinic has its own website at finishperformancehealth.com. The Journal is the daily practice, FINISH 90 is the 90-day on-ramp, and the GuideBook is the why behind both: three tools you carry, still being built.
When do the Journal and FINISH 90 launch?
They’re being built now, page by page, from three decades in the exam room and a lifetime in the Word. Follow along, or call the clinic to be first to know.
Is Begin to FINISH a Christian program?
Yes. Begin to FINISH is faith-anchored, and the Journal, FINISH 90, and the GuideBook are built as Christian practice, not general wellness with a verse added on top. The anchor question on every page is the same: did I steward my body, mind, and spirit well today? And the whole framework rests on one line: a stewardship only makes sense if there is a Steward. It comes from Kelly Ward, PA-C, thirty years in orthopedic sports medicine and a lifetime in the Word, anchored in Hebrews 12:1–2.
Who is Begin to FINISH for: is there an age range?
Begin to FINISH is for the second half of life: generally the 40s through the 70s and beyond, whether you’re returning to movement after years away or still competitive. Kelly Ward built the framework after his own turning point at fifty-four, and the GuideBook carries decade-by-decade field notes for the 40s, 50s, 60s, and 70s because the race looks different at each stage. You don’t need to be an athlete or already fit: you need to be ready to stop drifting and start stewarding what you’ve been given.
Is FINISH Performance Health a real clinic, or is Begin to FINISH just an online movement?
Both are real, and they’re connected but distinct. Begin to FINISH is the movement: the conviction, and the Journal, FINISH 90, and GuideBook being built around it. FINISH Performance Health is its clinical home, a real practice at 394 S Milledge Ave., Suite 102, in Athens, GA, staffed by physicians, physical therapists, a dietitian, and strength coaches you can sit down with today.
The Practices
Do I have to be religious to do FINISH 90 or use the Journal?
For FINISH 90, yes: Scripture and prayer are one of the six non-negotiable daily pillars, right alongside fitness and nutrition, and skipping it sends you back to Day 1 like any other pillar. The Journal works the same way: every day asks where you saw God at work, not just how you slept or trained. Both are built for the Christian who wants a whole life, body included, ordered around that conviction, not as neutral tools with faith added on.
Is FINISH 90 a Christian alternative to 75 Hard?
People ask, and the honest answer is that FINISH 90 runs on a different engine. Challenge plans are about the self: your discipline, your body, your proof that you can. FINISH 90 is ninety days lived for more than yourself: for God first, for the people entrusted to you, and for the body and mind you steward in their service. The discipline is real and the standard does not move, but discipline is the tool, not the point. Devotion is the point. The aim is not a better body. The aim is a better steward. And when you miss a day, the restart is not the punishment. The restart is the grace.
What’s the difference between the Journal, FINISH 90, and the GuideBook?
The Journal is the daily practice: a year-long, four-quarter journal walking you through the same stewardship question every day. FINISH 90 is the on-ramp: a focused ninety-day intensive built around six daily pillars, for when you want a hard reset rather than a slow build. The GuideBook is the why behind both: a field manual laying out the mindset, the science, and the Scripture the other two run on. In short: the Journal gives the daily practice, FINISH 90 gives the on-ramp, and the GuideBook explains why all of it exists.
How much does the Journal, FINISH 90, or the GuideBook cost?
There’s no price to publish yet: the Journal, FINISH 90, and the GuideBook are still being built, and pricing hasn’t been set publicly. What we can tell you: the clinic runs on transparent, direct pricing, and you’ll know the cost before you walk in, every time. Call (706) 224-9951 or book a consultation to ask about timing and be first to know when the movement’s products are ready.
How do I get started with Begin to FINISH?
Today, the clinic is the door: FINISH Performance Health is the only expression of the movement you can walk into right now. Book a consultation or call (706) 224-9951, and you’ll sit down with the team to talk through your goals before any testing or plan gets built. The Journal, FINISH 90, and the GuideBook are being written page by page. Follow along, or call the clinic to be first to know when they’re ready.
Your First Visit
What happens at my first visit?
You sit down with our team (no gowns, no rushed fifteen minutes) to talk through your goals, history, and challenges. From there we recommend the testing that fits, and build a plan for training, nutrition, and recovery around what the numbers actually say.
Do I need to be an athlete?
No. The race we care about is the one set before you. Whether you’re returning to movement after years away or training for your tenth marathon, the method is the same: honest numbers, a plan you understand, and a team that walks with you.
Testing & Services
What testing do you offer?
DEXA body composition, VO₂ max and lactate threshold testing, advanced biomarkers and cardiac testing, resting metabolic rate, continuous glucose monitoring, sleep apnea testing, and full executive physicals, alongside strength & movement analysis and musculoskeletal therapy. See how Testing and Membership compare.
Evaluation & Plan, À La Carte, or Membership: where do I start?
Three ways in: choose the one that fits the season you’re in, and move between them anytime. Evaluation & Plan is where most people begin: a multi-modal evaluation and a protocol built for your body, your history, and your goals. À La Carte Services is for the person after one answer, one therapy, or a place to begin without committing to more. Membership is ongoing care from a clinical team that knows your name and your race: healthspan managed forward, not repaired backward.
